Tucked away from the main drag in a quiet residential area, this updated adobe home offers charm and unique touches that bring together a Marfa vibe with a laid-back homey feel. Since 2018, we’ve hosted individuals, couples, small groups, families, etc … Over time, this darling adobe has become a beloved spot for new and repeat guests coming to Marfa for festivals, fun weekends away, group trips, wedding weekends, long stays, short overnighters, you name it!
Conejito is centrally located and totally walkable to everything - Big Sandy Coffee, The Sentinel, Marfa Spirit Co Shopping, Galleries, Judd Foundation, Chinati Foundation, El Cosmico, etc ...! This is the perfect spot for festival weekends, on the weekdays when the town is a little quieter, or as a jumping off point to Big Bend National and State Parks! No matter what, you'll be centrally located right in the heart of EVERYTHING!
There are two bedrooms with four comfortable sleeping arrangements, one bathroom, a living room, a small dining area, a kitchen, and a huge backyard with a fire pit and plenty of space to lounge in the cold or warm seasons.
LIVING ROOM: The heart of the house is the living room which is just off the kitchen. Kick back on the medium-sized couch, while friends gather around on the lounge chair, dining, and bar chairs. The open-air feel is perfect for celebrating your time in Marfa or enjoying a quiet breakfast and letting those perfect West Texas clouds roll on by.
KITCHEN: Conejito offers a fully equipped kitchen that's perfect for cooking or just making cocktails. You'll find a full refrigerator with a freezer, several pots and pans, plates, bowls, and lots of glassware. Spoons, forks, knives, and all sorts of assorted utensils are provided. There are two coffee pots: one automatic and one French Press. Ground coffee is always stocked. There is a half stove still with four burners and a medium-sized baking oven. There is no vent over the stove so we ask you to please not cook with frying grease. The window opens to allow ventilation when things are getting hot in the kitchen or open the side door. There is a fire extinguisher located on the shelf in the laundry room. To avoid lingering kitchen smells you can open the front and back doors and turn the fan on. We keep some incense on the laundry room shelf.
MASTER BEDROOM: The master bedroom has one queen-sized bed, two bedside tables, a large TV, a standing mirror, and a walk-in closet with a robe, extra fan, and ironing board. The doorway into the master bedroom shows how thick the adobe bricks are keeping things cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The back room is private even with a curtain door.
GUEST ROOM: The second bedroom has two twin beds, one bedside table (centered between the two), one chair for sitting, and a medium closet with a fan, robe for lounging, and hangers for your clothes. We kept the original bed frames and gave them new life. New mattresses and foam toppers have been added to all three beds. Four hundred-thread count cotton sheets and duvet covers as well.
BATHROOM: The bathroom is cozy with a walk-in shower. Toilet and vanity of course! In the vanity, you will find some extras in case you forgot. In the wicker drawers, you’ll find a blow dryer as well.
AC/HEAT: The house has central air for cool air in the summer and heat in the winter. The house is made of adobe mud which keeps the house at cool temps in the summer and warm in the winter. Extremely comfortable temps! You can keep the house ice cold or hot if you need. There is also an H13 HEPA H13-filtered air purifier.
OUTSIDE: Light the fire pit and live in or out! There are four wooden outdoor chairs for lounging by the fire pit. Or, enjoy your meals outside on the metal table with four matching chairs under string-lit lights. Pop open the umbrella for shade in the summer. Enjoy reading a book in one of the hammocks under a cedar pergola in the backyard or on the front porch.
FRONT PORCH: Enjoy your margaritas in the evenings on the front porch while rocking away in the cast iron chairs. Fall asleep in the hammock forgetting about all those emails you need to send.
WIFI: Very fast fiber WiFi for streaming multiple users at once. Easily work from home if you have to!
PETS: We love pets! Conejito has a closed-in yard to allow your pets to roam and to give you privacy. There are a few yard and house rules. We aim to make every stay as clean as possible! Please pick up after your pets. Please do not allow pets on sofa. If you must sleep with your pet we ask that you put a throw down. We require guests pay a cleaning fee of $25 PER PET. There is a TWO PET MAXIMUM. Our fee will go straight to our cleaning staff to ensure that each guest will receive the same standard of cleanliness.
